Job Description:

The Kitchen Manager works under the direction of the Corporate Chef and participates in the management of the Commissary kitchen, the food preparation process and other administrative duties.  Duties include, but are not limited, to the list below:

  • Assist in the planning of menus and promotions.
  • Properly store all food, which must be covered, dated and rotated on a daily basis.
  • Manage staff under the direction of the Executive of Head Chef.  
  • Assist with the enforcement of sanitation and safe food handling standards.
  • Deal with guest or employee issues as related to the kitchen.  
  • Maintain effective communication with co-workers and managers.
  • Work in a team setting when required.
  • Work independently when required.
  • Train new and current staff on Restaurant processes and expectations.

Position Requirements:

  • Previous experience in batch cooking
  • Ability to execute standard recipe procedures
  • Inventory knowledge
  • Leadership skills
  • Understanding of food cost principles 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced setting
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment when required
  • Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude
